Learning coaching for children

Learning is not always fun. Often learning is associated with frustration and anxiety for children (and parents). In learning coaching, we explore the child's strengths and then use these to work on the weaknesses. The goal is to rediscover the joy of learning through small successes.

The following topics are suitable for learning coaching with a child:

  • Support with maths difficulties and difficulties with reading and writing
  • Learning with AD(H)D
  • Increasing perseverance and concentration
  • Developing work and learning strategies
  • Stress management, time management and self-management
  • Efficient exam preparation
  • Doing presentations with confidence
  • Getting rid of blockages and anxieties
  • Acquiring self-assurance and motivation for learning
  • Using one’s own strengths and skills

Steps in the learning coaching process

During an initial, free-of-charge discussion, we will talk about the main topics of concern for you and your child in relation to learning and how I can support you. We will then have an initial consultation at my practice, where you can tell me about the situation and we can work together to agree on a goal for the coaching. The child is not usually present at the initial consultation. In the following sessions, I work with your child on the agreed topics – it may be a good idea for the parents to take part in certain sessions on arrangement.

Learning coaching usually takes between 3 and 10 sessions of 50 minutes each.
Learning coachings for dyslexia and dyscalculia will take longer.

Conditions

A session lasts 50 minutes and costs CHF 120.

This includes the preparation and follow-up work for the sessions as well as short telephone calls, SMS messages and e-mails lasting up to 10 minutes. The costs are not covered by health insurance.


Longer telephone calls and e-mails, communication with specialists (teachers, remedial teachers, therapists etc.) and evaluations of more comprehensive gap analyses are calculated on a time basis and cost CHF 15 per 15 minutes.

Parent consultancy can be carried out on site at my practice or digitally via Zoom.

Please let me know if you are entitled to reduced premiums with your health insurance. In this case, you will be charged a reduced rate.

If you cannot make an appointment or if you wish to change your appointment, please let me know 24 hours in advance, otherwise you will be charged for the appointment.
